I believe that not just me but everyone in the northwest should help with the invasive species problem. We can start in our school. Schools can do service projects where they go out and remove invasive species in the forests. This would be very important because invasive species can change the chemical make up of the soil the preventing native species from growing. In Multnomah county they have work projects where people can go out and remove the roots of the mustard weed or where they go and poison the plant. sometimes they have work project where they go and close down some trails that have mustard weed on them so that people don't spread the seeds in other places. What you can do and this is what I did was get a work crew together and talk to the city asking if they need any invasive species removal. If they say yes and have a place you can remove the species at, you can plan the project and take your friends out and help our environment by removing those species. Also your local schools can help by going out once a week or once every few weeks like we do at La Salle and remove some mustard weed or any other invasive species in the area.
